Suck it in, and I'll tie you up with knots

So tell me, what did you do on this oh-so-exciting friday. If you caught the sarcasm, yes, this friday is a) nothing special b) so-not-interesting and c) utterly dead.

Just when i thought low cash, moody moo swings, and having one of those ugly feeling days, made me feel all the right reasons not to go out, I definitely got that wrong. Let's see the scenarios I had:

1. Question " Would you like to go for supper or do something later tonight? We'll probably grab some dinner and discuss the budget for the trip too and take a drive after that.. If you wanna come, we could come fetch you... "

My thought were, hmmm, supper would just explode my bulging tummy which is currently present... since I wouldn't be on board that trip, there isn't really a reason for me to go. They'll be busy calculating and discuss details of which would be unnecessary for me. So to no.1, I said, " nah, you guys have fun without me."

2. Phone call " You sure you just want to stay at home??? It's just the 3 of us, you could still come down and join us here at supper you know... "

This time round I knew entry charges are sky-rockets so I immediately turned this one down. After all, 3o bucks and just 2 drinks wouldn't get me anywhere. Predictions of me going to get more drinks would probably leave me in a further deficit which is a big no-no. So to no.2, I said " sorry, i really want to, but just can't seem to afford it."

3. Phone call " Hey, my buddies and I are going out tonight and you should really join us for drinks. It's a friday night man, c'mon come meet us! You know where we'll be... "

I started to get really tempted. What was going on with this night?? Jeez, one hell of a night that would not let me stay put at home. I was weighting all my options and most of my lights were all green for this, until...

The thought of cab fare. Going there, and going back would just burn a hole in my pocket considering the fact I would be heading to clarke quay alone there and back. So to no.3, I said " hey, you have a great time. won't be dropping by tonight due to lack of cash. happy hooking up with hot chicks though. "

4. Question " I know this is pretty late to invite people to go partying on the weekends, but if you are interested I'll be at zouk and if you aren't doing anything tonight you could come..."

After the one too many thoughts, I immediately said my thank yous and vaguely just like my tape-recorded reply of being broke and that i was staying home. This is round after quickly turning down my no.4, to my surprise this was my reply...

" I could pay for you entry."

I shot a glance at the clock, and saw the hand at 12 and the other at 30. Damnit, it's already passed midnight. Good going zara, good going.

It's seems to me I rotate the opposite direction with the world. They go this way, and I'll be going the other way around. Even my parents who love to ask constantly " what time will you be coming back, it's very late you know bla bla bla..." starting asking " why didn't you just go for all your plans?? Just spent an hour at each and see in the end which is the best to return."

Yes, if only i had all the money in the world then I could try and consider that option. So, it's 1:00am and I'm stuck. At home, and alone.

Lesson 101 - If plans keep popping non-stop, it's a sign for you to go out.
